Deep rich, smooth porter dances with berry notes to the front intertwined with maple and tonka leading into a dry satisfying finish. Pull up that Chesterfield and ponder the perfect paradox

Keg at Kelham Island Tavern, ratebeer Sheffield mini-gathering 04Mar2023. Black brown colour, beige foam head and aroma of malt, chocolate, earthy. Taste is dark malt, dried fruits, chocolate, coffee, roasty earthy nutty bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry roasty nutty bitter finish. Quite drinkable

Keg at the Pembury Tavern - Hackney. Pours black-brown with a dense, creamy beige head. Moderately sweet with notes of dark fruits, cocoa, roast, maple. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely integrated finish, more dark fruits, damson, slight berries, more baking cocoa, mild ashy roast, undertones of maple syrup. Eclectics but still quite well balanced. Great work.
