18 December 2022. Bottle from Beers@Moviefun. Vintage 2019; bottled: 6/04/2022.
Hazy dark brown-blackish, small, foamy, beige head. Aroma of sweet red wine, tawny port, raisin, ripe blue grape, wood, almond, fruit cake, fondant. Taste has sweet raisin & ripe grape next to sourish brambleberry wrapped in a dark-chocolatey, bit almondy malt body with fine woody aspects and a touch of liquorice. Herbal hoppy finish, retaining a firm dark-fruity profile, some woody tannins and warming port-like alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Lacks some body; otherwise a refined dark-fruity Ale.
