A new series dedicated to our hop suppliers & their tolerance for us during selection. It’s a running joke when we go out West to rub hops each harvest… “Yeah, I like everything about it… I just wish it popped more.” It turns out that “popping more” can be an incredibly difficult thing to quantify for a lab that is trying to screen hop lots as they come in. Showcasing some of our favorite selected lots and putting them out to pasture with Cryo Pop, a blend from Yakima Chief Hops specifically formulated for dry hopping during primary fermentation. Yeah, I like it… But can we make it pop?

Pretty cloudy bright yellow beer, big creamy white head, stable, a bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: nice, very fruity, lots of tangerines, some fresh orange peel, lychee, lovely! A little floral, with a hint of cardamom. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: lovely, lots and lots of citrus notes, some pineapple, fruity, refreshing, gentle bitterness,a little watery maybe. Aftertaste: more citrus, juicy, more fruity, pretty bitter, some grapefruit, dry, a bit grassy, nice one!

Aromas are fresh citrus hops with some dry grain and a little sweat. Flavors are similar to nose, citrus coming out more, good balance between sweet, bitter and carbonation. Okay body with a good finish. Nice beer.
