50cl bottle @ VinensVerden, Odense: Pours pitch black with a large creamy bubbly brown head. Aroma is roasted malts - coffee mainly. Chocolate, coffee, ashy (burnt roast) & a chili note in the end - slightly burning the tongue. Smooth & filling palate - low carbonaion. A good example of how good beers Brøckhouse is still capable of brewing! Thumbs up!

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of BelJohansen. Clear, dark brown with a reddish hue and a rough, light brown head. Distinct, burned malt aroma. Surprisingly the body is a little watery. Sweetish, hard roasted malt accents and a whiff of vanilla. The chili comes late and adds a piquante bite. Malt bitter finish. 040408

50cl bottle, from beer&wine shop. Pours quite black, with a nice brown foam, that lasts a while. looks dangerous.. smells not that dangerous though, like a guinness or some such (perhaps i’m having this one too cold). Taste is real good stout, but after the initial usual impression i get burned with chilli.. special... but nice. sort of like when you eat some chilli candy. heh.. i bet ratings are two sided. you like it or hate it. the chili burn is definetly noticeable.

Bottled. Very black, beige head. Aroma of chocolate sauce and molasses. Sweet and medium bodied with fairly raw and unrefines malt profile. Balanced amounts of chili contributes to a warm flavour, but syrup and molasses makes it sticky. Finishes lightly salty. One of the few beers where chili actually is a positive feature, but just like other bigger beers from Brøckhouse I find it raw and rough.

Black with a small tan head. Chocolate dark malts and a very light touch of chili in the aroma - especially as it warms up. Dry and roasted flavour with chili in the aftertaste. Chili is well balanced for my taste: Just barely there, but definitely there.

From tap at the Ølbaren. Pours pitch black with a dense chocolate brown head. Roasted and chocolate malty aroma. Flavour holds a smooth/soft chocolate malt flavour with a light vegetable note of chili. The chili becomes slight burning in the finish. Gets a bit cloying in the end.
