Fyra sorters humle: First gold, Hallertauer tradition, Opal och Sovereign.

Övriga smaksättare: Pomerans, apelsin och råsocker

Alkoholhalt: 9 %

(33cl bottle, courtesy of Papsoe) Cloudy, chestnut-brown colour with a short off-white foamy layer. Sugary sweet toast-malty and bready nose with caramel/toffee, light fruity (prunes, sugar beet) notes and a touch of alcohol. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly yeasty, toast-malty taste with distinctive flavours of chocolate and lighter notes of caramel and liquorice; sweet chocolatey and malt-accented, also quite lasting finish with traces of warming alcohol. Tasty, especially towards the finish (26.03.08).

Bottle bought at GBBF 07. Cloudy russet with no head. Deep malt aroma, a little musty, like your grandmother’s wardrobe crossed with fresh glue. Pretty much syrupy malt in mouth. Not unpleasant. Gives a good warming glow. Gets better as you drink it,.....or is that the alcohol? Time for bed everyone.....boing!!!!

This is strange. This beer was julkloster 2002 and it is 9 ABV, but thats not consistence with the data from the brewery?????? Creamy white good mostly deminishing head (maybe because it is that old). Amber colour. Powerfull hoppy and malty aroma. Very nutty/licorice flavor. Long complex nice finish. Creamy palate. Great beer.

Bottle. (vintage 2002, thanks to papsoe) Murky, orange-brown, with aromas of beef-stock, malt and a little oxidation. Malt, sweetness, alcohol and dried fruits in the flavor. Full body and a long sweet finish. It had a little oxidation that didn’t ruin it, and even thouth I think it should withstand age better, it is quite a good beer. (070510)
