Mango, orange, and papaya flavors are front and center in this easy drinking American Pale Ale thanks to a generous blessing of Galaxy hops. With a crisp, clean body and a smooth fruity finish, no wonder this Pale Ale was given the Gold Medal at the NC Brewer’s Cup. Appalachian Vinter, no date. Pint glass at home. Nice cascade. Clear, dark amber, sticky tall head. Floral-citrus nose, a little veggie, a little muted. Plain Cheerios, slight pineapple & sweet grapefruit but much less than anticipated. Veggie-earthy bitterness, some lingering white pith. Thin & low carb, kinda boozy. Not very good. Maybe it's old? Maybe you should stamp a date on it.

Week old pint can A: Poured a thick pillow of tan head atop a clear deep amber orange body. Good retention before a thick lasting pad and ring are left. S: Light scent of tart fresh orange and lemon with melon notes. Like sour citrus candy. T: Lightly tart and fairly bitter with lemon and orange pith dominating. Berries, citrus pulp and drying biscuity malts finish the sip. M: Medium body with average carbonation and a puckering lightly resinous finish. O: Nice tart, bitter and dry notes make this very tasty and drinkable.

The aroma is dusty citrus hops. Flavors are similar to nose with just hints of pineapple. A little sweet up front with good carbonation and some bitterness and the finish. A bit of booze at the end too. Good enough beer.
