Before I rate, a little tale. Upon asking for this beer, at the urge of a famous taster, the waiter tells me alarmed that "this is very sour", then sees the Cantillon logo on my shirt, says "Oh, OK!", and starts pouring. I think he ought to drink some Cantillon, double-quick... Draught No head, fully hazy amber-red beer. Sheer acidity whelming out of the glass, acetic and fruity, like sour cherries vinegar. Definitely a bit too... Acidic bite, lactic and acetic, and a lot of fruitlike esters, acids, wood. Puckeringly sour, dry-out effect as none before. This thing could be used to etch copperplates. Oud bruin is just sour. And does the man who named this concoction has any idea about what it means?? Bit Tree Brown ???

Hazy pink color, small steady creamy beige head. Fruity, sour brettanomyces nose. Very sour, acidic with fruity flavor of cherry liquer and some other fruits. Punch of liquerish alcohol. Red wineous palate. Complex, lovely sour ale.

Draught at European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. Cloudy orange amber, brief head. Tart and vinegary, puckering sour. Soft and buttery, vinous and woody with lots of freshening lactic and citric acidity. A hardcore sour beer with lots of character. All said and done this is the beer I’ll remember the most from EBF’08!

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy orange with a lasting creamy off-white head. Berry fruity and citric to acidic aroma. Tart initial flavour with a sharp berry fruity accent. Sharp bite into a tart fruity finish with a solid vinegar Rodenbach note. Good stuff although unusual and different.

At EBF 2008, Friday September 12Shady copper color, small white head. Acidic to sour scent, also oak. Acidic and sweet taste. Acidic aftertaste. Pungent mouthfeel, low bitterness. Aftertaste is seriously sour haertburn. Too sour in the aftertaste, otherwise rather ok, but that lingering heartburn feeling down the throat sort of ruins it all.

draught at brewextreme birthday. aroma is sour, apples? appears unclean brown, small yellow head. flavor is sour, quite acid, fruits other stuff (i’m not very used to sour beer). palate is quite bubbly, overall it was drinkable, but i must admit i still have to learn to appreciate sour and acid beer. 2014 tap at Taphouse Cph. Cloudy Brown. Almost ni head. Acidic and Woody aroma dried fruits. Flavor is very acidic with notes of Vineager very extreme for its style.
