Bottle. Hazy golden, golden foam. Dry grainy nose, mostly neutral. Metallic, grainy, a hint booze, good broad bitterhop finish. Medium full body, chewy.

Bottle, bought at the brewery. Golden color. Malt and peaches on syrup in the aroma. Malty sweet, perfumed and alcoholic flavor with hints of tropical fruit. Thin to medium bodied. Lacks balance.

“Antonius Starkbier hell“, Flasche (50 cl) aus dem Getränkemarkt der Brauerei Michael in Weißenstadt. - Tief orangegold, klar. - Bocktypisch malzig breite Nase mit Toastbrot, Vanille und viel Alkohol. - Antrunk satt und sämig karamelmalzig mit tiefer Malzigkeit, Anklängen an Honig, getreidig und leicht toastig, unterlegt von nicht zu knapper aber aromatisch vager Hopfenherbe. Mild rezent, mastig, deutlich fuselig. Im Abgang durch breite Malzigkeit gedämpfte Orangenschalen- und Kräuterherbe. - Schwerer Doppelbock, etwas ruppig und unverhüllt alkoholisch aber ehrlich und solide. Probierenswert.

50cl bottle. Pours clear dark golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of strong toasted malt, grain, mild hops. taste of sweet strong malts, sharp grainy, mild hops, nothing special.

Bottle 500ml.Unclear medium orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, toasted, sweet malt, sugar, malt. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120128]

Bottle @ Too many Geuze’s - only one toilet , Ulfborg 2012. Pours dark golden with a small off white head. Sweet. Sugar, perfume and grain. A bit of caramel. Medium bodied.
