Test vom 15.2.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 14,9,8,7,7,8 - 8,55

A hazy orange beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is sweet spicy combined with notes of caramel, the flavor is primarily sweet and spicy. Nice but still middle of the road. Thanks to Carlo (Lachesis) for this one.

(Bottle 33 cl) Hazy, pale golden with a creamy, white head that leaves laces. Slightly floral, hoppy nose. Malt, yeast, some sugar and then nothing much more really. Typical semi-boring blond ale. 270705

(bottle from a Delhaize supermarket near Eupen) Pale & hazy orange colour with a medium frothy head, slowly lacing. Very yeasty and spicy aroma with a clear alcoholic note. Initially malty sweet with fruitiness and most of all spiciness of pepper and liquorice in the lasting finish. Alcohol is always present but well integrated and not disturbing. A good one !

(Somewhat aged sample) Very pale peach, slight haze; heavily carbonated to good, dense white head, lacey. Agreable spicey, peppery nose, hint of (white) candi sugar. Slight oxidation to nutty flavours, specially in the palate. Dry, but still sweet main taste. Finish has marked liquorice notes. Dry mouthfeel, but surprisingly vivid carbonation, on the verge of acidity. Bit empty in the palate. The Delhaize supermarkt alternative. Fresh, it's certainly worth trying, but just a bit aged, like this, the truth comes forward. A Duvel would lived up incomparibly better.
