Pitch black, brown foam. Notes of coffee, liquorice, roasted malts, sweet boozy cognac finish. Not overly complex but nonetheless very good.

Can. Color: Black, brown head. Aroma: Overwhelming fruity Cognac. Taste: Smooth, creamy, again overwhelming fruity Cognac, grape. Not as overwhelming as in the aroma, fortunately. Some roasted malt and hints of vanilla still remaining. Hoppy background. Over moderate to medium sweet at the start, over moderate sweet combined with moderate to over moderate bitterness at the lightly dry-ish finish. Full body, below average carbonation. I'm a fan of Cognac BA beer, this one is ok but definitely not the most balanced one. Maybe 26 months of barrel ageing just was too much... Have had better Kees BA beers too.
Boozy a hell On the nose. Base is good. Good body strong beer, my kind balanced. Wildeman ams

Pours a black body and a dense light brown head with fair retention. Aroma's: quite boozy alcohol, a bit spiritus. Retronasal it's also (too) alcoholic, but there's also a bit syrup. Flavour is above moderate sweet. Medium bodied. Very dense carbonation which gives it a full mouthfeel. Finishes with some iodine/peat and ash, light bitter.

0.33 l can from 'Beerdome', best before March 2028. Pitch black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, light brown head. Slightly sweetish-malty, quite vinous-fruity aroma of lots of cognac, raisins, prunes, vanilla and some dark chocolate. Rather sweet, gently roasty-malty, fairly vinous-fruity taste of massive cognac, raisins, prunes, dark chocolate, coffee, roasted hazelnut and some vanilla, followed by a long, quite roasty-bitter, slightly boozy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice RIS with heavy, probably too much influence from the barrel. The small is cognac and not much else, gets more complex in the taste though. Not Kees' best.
