Sampled @ Bierfestival Oirschot 2025. Opaque pitch black color, small brown colored head. Aroma and flavor are malts, roasty a bit, chocolate, rum, boozy a bit. Not bad. 8-8-8,5-9-8

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. A tiny, tan head over a jet black body, fragile lacing. Very inviting aromas of mocha chocolate and oak. Dark malt-driven flavours of chocolate, syrup, rum, alongside a backdrop of lactose, well blended. Oaky. Long-lived finish, chocolate malts with warmth from the alcohol. Decent slow sipper on a lazy Sunday afternoon. (Tromsø, 02.02.2025).

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is mocha and coffee with rum, roasted malt, chocolate, some raisin, toffee, caramel, barrel, touch of liquorice and coconut. Medium sweet, mild bitter. About full bodied, some alcohol. Very nice. I am a sucker for rum.

Bottle. Color: Black, thin brown head. Aroma: A lot of coffee, roasted malt, Rum hints. Taste: Quite well balanced mix of coffee, roasted malt, toffee fudge and sweetish, lightly fruity and bit boozy Rum. Some cocos and hints of liquorice. Full body, below average carbonation. Medium sweet, light bitterness. One of the best balanced beers of the newly released Jopen BA beers. Strong flavored base beers surely help if you, like Jopen, almost every time want to barrel age for more than 300 days. So far my frustrations on Jopen barrel ageing... Back to this beer: This one is a nice one indeed. More like these please, Jopen!

Pours a black body and a dense light brown head with good retention. Aroma's: roasted, coffee, drop/salmiak, a bit boozy, umami, woody. Retronasal: boozy (but not overpowering), zwart-wit/salmiak, a hint of green apples, woody. Flavour is (above) moderate sweet, roasty, somewhat umami. Medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Long finish, roasted, ashy, moderate bitter. Not bad, but I have the idea that the adjuncts were used to cover up some errors.

Zwart bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is warm en krachtig bitterzoet met iets van rook, wat kokos, chocolade en natuurlijk een subtiele rum smaak die er perfect bij past.

Bottle. Black with tan head. Raw green veggies, dry earthy old barrels, coffee, sugary, sour red berries, apple, glue, caramel. Solid sweet, bit less bitter, light sour. Full bodied. A weird mess of rough barrel aged stout and pastry stout. Not very great.
