440ml can from Benny’s place, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a murky medium brown colour with a thin white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is toffee caramel, light boozy alcohol. The flavour is over moderate sweet, with a smooth, somewhat rich, toffee caramel, burnt treacle, warm boozy alcohol bitter palate. Over medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Light brown and clear with lasting lacy head. Loads of malt sweetness and a rounded resinous hop bitterness.

Can of barelywine from Walther Mai. Lovely orange red amber, tanned cream. Classic fresh citrus, pine, peach nose, light clay. medium to full body, mellow creamy. Light caramelly malt sweetness, without the old timey stickiness, broad citruspeel, light melon, pine, earth and grass, mossy retronasal. Certainly modern, but sort of reminds me both of old and new world Barleywines at the same time. Nicely done.

Can picked up from Walther Mai, München and consumed sat outside at home Friday 14th July 2023 listening to Afro Deutscha on 6Music. We didn't have the Chicken and Halloumi Burgers in the end, simply not hungry. Pours amber with a large dirty cappuccino coloured bubbly head. Nice thick mouthfeel, resinous hops show, a little warmth from the abv, huge malty backbone, sweetness, a little grapefruit shows. This is extremely good.

Shortlived cream-coloured head over muddy amber-brown beer with UFO's in suspension. C-hops, fragrant, exotic fruti as passion fruit, caramel. Bitterish exotic fruit, asafoetida, bit of human sweat, caramel, even toffee in the background. Feels well-bodied, almost chewy, warming, well-carbonated. Nice barley wine, ticking all the boxes. Txs to Joren for bringing!
