Bottle from Systembolaget. Light hazel colour with a short lasting head. The aroma is a lot like a triple and the taste is like a saison but a lot more heavy. Experimental and well brewed as always from Stone.

Bottle. Golden colour. Smells banana and cinnamon. Tastes apricot, spices and raisins (the tastes reminds me of a barley wine). I’d rather have a regular sophisticated belgian saison instead of this extreme interpretation of the style. This is an OK beer though.

Cloudy light orange red color...lacing forming even before the first sip...tan head...smells of spicec reminiscent of a pumpkin beer...I smell the ginger...complexities a many...belgian yeast is the first thing I taste...ginger and citrus follow..with a dry spicy finish...mid palate is the strangest part...I almost taste nothing for a split second ...then orange...its good not per say my favorite style...but it will need some proper aging on the rack...orange distinct in the finish along with the cardamom and lemon zest...mixed feelings about this one...I dont really care for ginger

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy orange-amber color with a small tan head that faded quickly and numerous floaters throughout. The aroma was sweet grapefruit and light peppermint. The flavor was sweet, tangy and had notes of grapefruit and pine. The finish was short, lightly tart and bitter. The body is fairly thick and the alcohol is well hidden. Nice

Bottle. Pours a clear, golden body under a small white head. Quite lovely sweet, spiced aroma with ginger and cardamom. Fruity too, with citrus pee notes. Sweet, spiced flavor, with the same spices found in the aroma. Nice fruity and citrusy flavor too, with a decent hoppy bitterness and maybe too much alcohol, at least for a 8.4% ABV beer. Herbal towards the finish. Medium mouthfeel with a little warming feeling. For my likings, the alcohol is a bit too evident, and there’s also too much emphasis on the ginger, making it demanding to drink more than a small glass. Nice though. Rating: 7-4-7-3-14-3.5. It pours a clear, golden body with a small, white head. Spiced, sweet nose with a touch of honey. Sweet, caramel flavor with cardamom and elderberry. Full-bodied. A quite nice one, but it still feels a bit ordinary. (081229)

650ml bottle. Clear, dark golden body with a thin off-white head. Aroma is incredible fruity, almost a bit overwhelming. Peaches and ginger mostly with a hint of bubblegum and fruit caramel. Flavor is malt, peaches, spicy and lots of ginger. A bit sweet and to much ginger for my taste, almost balanced with a fine bitter finish. A Saison for me is a smooth and gentle beer; this is a brutal flavor attack. Not undrinkable and not bad, just a bit to much of everything.

Bouteille 650ml, courtoisie de Hogtownharry. De couleur orange-dorée et voilée. Nez de levures fruitées (tangerines sucrées, léger de poires et de lime, notes de pommes), d’épices (cannelle, muscade, gingembre, coriandre et poivre), moyen de sucre bonbon et léger de houblon floral et herbeux. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture moyennement huileuse et légèrement crémeuse. Goût de levures fruitées (orange et zest, lime, notes de poires et de pommes) et d’épices (coriandre, gingembre, léger de cannelle) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût malté de pain, un léger goût de céréales ainsi que des notes de sucre bonbon. Parallèlement l’on note la présence d’un léger goût réchauffant d’alcool jusqu’en finale, où l’on retrouve également un regain d’épices (poivre, léger de muscade) ainsi qu’une moyenne amertume de houblon herbeux et légèrement floral. Post-goût long-moyen et plutôt sec, moyennement amer de houblon floral et herbeux avec un goût de levures fruitées (zest d’agrumes, notes de pelures de pommes) et un léger goût d’alcool (léger goût de gingembre toujours présent).

One of my favorite Tripel Style beers, too bad I don’t really like the style. Pours with a largish, foamy, white head covering a deep gold/orange body that is slightly hazy. A small layer of foam always stays atop the liquid. Decent lacing. Aroma has ginger, grapefruit, banana, vanilla, yeast, and a touch of cardamon. Good, sweet tripel taste, a bit metallicy, a touch oxideized as well. Great levels of alcohol and spice. Mouthfeel is a bit thing; there are sharp lively bubbles. A very pleasant brew that I wouldn’t mind to drink on tap next time I am down at Stone.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet amlty with notes of peaches, citrus, and spicy notes of especially cardemomme. The flavor is sweet matly with spicy notes of cardemomme, lemon peal, and cinnamon.
