The light-golden classic with creamy foam, tasty and fine-malty. Fresh, hoppy citrus and herbal scents with resinous hints and a nutty aroma note meet a clear, slightly bitter hop bitterness.

International Green Week, Berlin 2012: our second day and Hall 21b took us to Sachsen and Nordrhein-Westfalen where I was drawn to a brewery bar selling this beer. 0.3 Litre poured into a lovely glass: light golden body, regular brightness and clarity expected from a good German Pilsner, snow white head on top. The head stayed and produced some good, thick lacing. Hints of hops and malts in the nose; not much, but more than normal for a Pilsner. The refreshing taste had just about the right feel of flavours: hop bitterness and a mild malt sweetness blended together nicely to give a thirst quenching beer. This was one of the best Pilsners I had during my two days at Green Week (I had plenty, believe me).

Kein wirklich gutes Pils. 8/7/7/6/8/6

Small white head. Yellow body. Light malty grassy aroma with oily notes. Dryish-sweet minty grassy earthy taste with floral notes. Light body. Mild soft mouthfeel. Dryish earthy strawy minty floral aftertaste with fruity notes. Nice, delicate, and highly drinkable. More character wouldn’t hurt, though. (0.5l bottle, Kaufland, Leipzig.)

Bottle. Slightly sweet barley malt and light grass aroma. Pale yellow color with moderate head. Sweet corn syrup barley malt and moderately bitter grass flavor. Okay but far from great.

5l mini cask, bought at Kaufland Dresden-Weißig. Clear pale golden yellow, enormous persistent white head, very creamy, hoppy nose. Light- to medium-bodied with a good malty background and lots of herbal hops with a shy floral touch.
