Pours a pitch black colour and a dense light brown head with good retention. Aroma's: drop, umami, bourbon. Retronasal it's boozy (not necessarily bourbon), salmiak/umami, sweetish, old wood. Flavour is moderate sweet, light moderate roasty bitter. Alcohol feel is a tad bit sharp. Body is medium (at best). Finishes with firm roast, ashy, moderate bitter.

Bottle. Color: Black, brown head. Aroma: Bourbon, roasted malt. Taste: Bourbon, vanilla, licorice, roasted malt. Oak wood notes and some umami. Dry-ish. Fortunately not as monotonous sweet as a lot of other Bourbon BA Stouts are. Nice complexity for this kind of beer and well balanced. Over moderate sweet, moderate bitterness. Viscuous. Full body, below average carbonation. Another nice barrel ageing from De Magistraat.
