I would love to taste this with a higher alcohol Not as good as my old favorite Underlig Jul. But it is a fine beer with Christmas spices. A real Christmas beer Black pour and a fine head Fine intensity in the aroma Mellow sweetness and a moderate bitterness Fine carbonation level Dark malt and a pleasant Christmas spiced flavor More power please [Can from Meny Tista Senter in Halden, Norway]

Sjøen 020923. Black color with a beige head. Aroma is ginger, roasted malt, spices. Flavor is ginger, roasted malt, hop, cardamon, cloves, spices, bread. Too much ginger.

500 ml can, probably from Bunnpris Sauda. ABV is 4.5%, IBU 25. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Large to moderate beige head. Aroma of Christmas spices and gingerbread: cardamom, coriander seeds, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. I feared the flavour would be too sweet, but it is not. Fairly light bodied, with just enough malts to support the distinct notes of said spices. A moderate hop bitterness in the aftertaste.

Sort med beige skum som legger seg rundt kanten. Aroma kardemomme malt pepperkake ingefær. Smak i samme leia. Kake på boks, litt maltsødme og krydder, helt greit. Boks delt med Synny

Can from Eurospar, Bodö. Black with a tan head. Kind of mild with ginger, some caramel and mild dark malt. Extra points for not being sweet. God jul!

Can. A black one, with a dense finger-thick dark beige head leaving lacing. Gingerbread spiced aroma, ginger, cloves, cardamom, cloves and even more ginger and cardamom. Roasted malts, burnt notes and some bready hints. It's medium bodied and semi-dry on the palate, softly carbonated, with some light bitterness and woody feelings. It's spiced in the flavor too, with dark bread, roasted malts, toffee and a hint of lactose sweetness in the flavor. Spiced finish. Too much spices for the ABV and body, and too low on carbonation I think. Interesting though. 230113

Siste rest fra min hemmelige julekalender, delt med Kitty: brunsvart med fint skum som varer. Krydderkakeingrediensene står i kø - ingefær, muskat, nellik, kanel, kardemomme. Korianderfrø kjenner jeg ikke. Deilig maltsmak i tillegg, og lactosen er bare til stede som en lett utfylling av smaksbildet. Herlig, akkurat passe krydret avslutning. Håper denne kommer i butikkene neste jul også.
