Bottle (2/21/24) pour from Friar Tuck, Crestwood. Clear, dark amber with a few dark floaties, nice sparkle and head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is strong bourbon, fig, winter spices, sweet malt. Taste follows aroma with late addition of toffee. Smooth, creamy, frothy texture, average carbonation and crisp finish as taste with no sign of alcohol. Good strength, well balanced. Well done.

Caramel malt, prune, alcohol, and hay aroma. Hazy reddish amber with small head. Very sweet raisin, cherry, caramel malt, and moderately bitter alcohol and hay flavor. Good body - nice balance; hides its strength well.

12 ounce bottle. Ruby red pour. Brief beige head reduces to a small ring. Died red berry aroma. A hint of oak and whiskey. Flavor is remarkably smooth upfront, given the 11% ABV. There is an immediate blast of booziness to follow. Then you return to the smooth, fruity notes of red berries and bar top cherries. As the brew warms, the oak and whiskey notes come out, offering a layer of complexity worthy of savoring. A hint of vanilla, kirsch liqueur and spice in finish. Certainly unique.

Bottle - lightly hazy amber - flavors of moderate spice, vanilla, bourbon, toffee, dark bread - warming finish, but the strength is fairly well-masked - finish is vanilla and toffee - it’s okay, but nothing stand out.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear, dark, amber color, with a big, bubbly, tan head. The nose is butter toffee, cardamom, coconut, light cherry, and light rye. Very sweet, sugary, and a bit boozy. Just a faint, earthy bitterness, which balances a little. Heavy, grainy, and smooth. Beautiful, delicious, boozy thing.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark ruddy amber with a moderate light tan head. Aroma is malty caramel/toffee. Arguably full in body. Flavor is toffee with slightly spicy hop. Bourbon is present, and oak astringency notes linger. Some dark fruit - like darkish cherry - not fig or raisin. Smooth tasty ale.

bottle. murky brown pour with a small khaki colored head that has fair retention. The aroma is light caramel, cherry and a trace of booze. The taste, like the aroma, is dominated by caramel, with cherries and a bit of smoky bourbon on the back end. The palate is full and viscous with soft carbonation. Finishes long with lingering sweet caramel. Overall: Decent, will drink again.

Pours clear dark amber with a small head. It has a caramel heavy aroma with oak and a little dark fruit. Sweet tasting and caramel rich, the bourbon is fairly mild.

Bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a clear amber color with a finger of beige head that lingers. Toffee, caramel and oak aromas on the nose. Some vanilla and herbal hops with more toffee and oak. Palate is similar, barrel is there, but a balanced beer overall.
