German Malts, Locher-Hopfen Hops, Koln Yeast.

9/II/24 - on tap @ Bar Beenhouwer (Gent), BB: n/a (2024-94) Thanks to Erwin and NathanVC for sharing today’s beers!

Clear orange blond beer, creamy dense white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: malty, grains, sweet impression, cow fodder. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: very malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, little sweet, good bitterness, ok. Aftertaste: more grains, dry, bitter, malty, cow fodder, hay, ok.

Draught Medium, dense, lightly yellowish head over hazy ochre-golden beer; some lace. Intense 'beery' nose: malts & peppery hops in balance; aroma of hot worts, garden weeds. Very dry malts and spicy hops. Remarkable balance. Again peppery, garden weeds. Finish is rather herbal - bitter. Light to medium bodied; good carbonation. Very faint stickyness. As said, very balanced beer. Obviously an ale... but I cannot qualify it as Kölsch - and that has nothing to do with protected areas of origin.
