When it comes to big barrel-aged stouts, Chocolate Reign takes the crown. This elevated version of Chocolate Rain was double barrel-aged with even more cacao and more vanilla. Already laid to rest in wood for over a year, these hand-selected barrels earned the right for a second round of aging. Made with the finest of ingredients, including Colombian Arauca cacao and Madagascar vanilla, you could say this bottle is suited for royalty.

Massive Double Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout with Cacao Nibs and Vanilla Beans.

Pours black. Scent is more booze-forward, and more liquid chocolate, than the 2020 version - which had more vanilla and bourbon barrel in comparison. Taste is intense , seemingly a bit sharper / thinner than the 2020. More boozefocussed, medicinal chocolate / vanilla, as booze takes the upperhand. A spirit feel, almost, but without the finesse. Seems like a too high amped up ABV stout (which it litterally is anyways) . Chocolate and vanilla are still clear, but don't have the upperhand. BBA is even fairly hidden. Decent beer, more than decent even - but this aint a royal greatness which I hoped and expected it to be.
