Though brewing a beer is always done with the goal of creating something delicious, naming a beer is a completely different story. This one, for instance, is named “Hot Wings” so that we can say that we have “Hot Wings on tap” at the Bellwoods Brewpub. Why? Because it is funny, that’s why.
Hot Wings the joke is about committing to the bit until it sticks — lukewarm reception and half-hearted lols be damned! Hot Wings the beer is all about being outrageously refreshing and hoppy within a crisp and nearly crystal clear packaged. Hopped with Mosaic and Simcoe, this Pale Ale provides notes of orange zest, Strawberry Campinos and jasmine.

Pale yellow, large white head. Light tropical notes, and some resinous notes also. Bright, crisp, clean and very refreshing. Incredible daily drinkiner. Love it.

Some haze, pale, medium head. I like the fruitiness of the hops here, the gooseberry of the galaxy and some apricotty, lemon verbena sort of stuff as well. This wasn't the freshest, but still had medium bitterness, a touch of fresh hop note, and a baseline pale malt.

473ml can. Pours a hazy gold yellow with a small, foamy, long lasting, white head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of bready pale malt, orange, passion fruit, peach and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of bready pale malt, tangerine, peach, pineapple, passion fruit and herbal hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Juicy and delicious.

A lightly hazed golden ale with a thick frothy lacing white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, pleasant. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light tropical a bit dry, pleasant. On tap at Cheshire Cat.

On tap at Bellwoods, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has some tangy citrus hops, a bit of seltzery notes, and cereal graininess. Flavour is light, with some tropical fruity hoppiness, seltzery notes, and biscuity malt. Clean and gentle, but still with good hopping. Pleasant stuff.
