Nighthawk is a German-Style black lager - a Schwarzbier. The beer is clean, crisp, and brewed with a heavy dose of chocolate wheat and debittered black malt for a big coffee roast flavor without any bitterness.

12 oz, BA Lager Fest in Cyberspace. Aroma has notes of dark bread, caramel, coffee, bad breath. Pours very dark brown to black with amber highlights and a one+ finger beige head with excellent retention. Taste is moderately sweet, finishing lightly dry. Perfectly carbonated creamy mouthfeel.

Unexpectedly mild for Enegren; their flavor profiles tend to be bigger more often than not, but Nighthawk makes for a subdued take on the style. Offers up gentle notes of cocoa and roast, a little cascara, with a healthy lager yeast fruitiness and notes of pumpernickel bread. Finishes with a modest bitterness and hints of char. Very drinkable, if a tad low-key.

Can from BottleCraft on India Ave. Pours clear dark brown with a creamish tan head. Aromas of chocolate, dark malt and a bit of coffee. Med minus body. Flavor is the aroma. It's bitter for me, but not very so. Coffee gets stronger with time. Good for the style. Quite clean in a malty way.
