This series of eight Spelingen van het Lot feature the ageing of the same lambikken on different wooden barrels. The lambikken come off two different brews, fully crafted with cereals sourced from our cereal collective and fully organic. The different wood types used are: American oak, German oak, acacia, the combination of German oak and acacia, chestnut, ash, cherry and mulberry. This bottle features the American oak and was handbottled on 513 bottles.

Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen “Speling van het Lot” (Twist of Fate) is a series of small batch experimental brews, barrel maturations, fruit macerations and blends.

Pours darker, cloudy blonde. Small, nearly no head. Scent is full-on wood in the nose. Blasts of vanilla goodness, over a present lambic base. Taste is full, intense vanilla, wood, beautifull partnership with the lambic. great beyond expectations, chalangeing some of the best lambic beers ever made. Being an absolutely 'new' release, this might even improve in a few years !

750mL bottle at 3 Fonteinen lambik-o-droom, pours a hazy bright golden with a small white head. Aroma is pungently oaky, with lots of leathery notes, subtle earth, and massive oak. Flavour is extremely oaky and quite tart, with intense oaky wood, moderate-to-high acidity, and gentle funk. Oaky, sharp acidity on the finish. Very nice.

750ml shared with Ryan and Phill and an American gang. Appearance: hazy golden with a white head. Aroma: lots of American oak, some funk and minerals. Taste: along the same lines, low carbonation. Overall: nice barrel work.
