50cl bottle thanks to onkelgobber. Pours a chestnut or dark honey colour with a nicely proportioned head. The nose has smokey/earthy/malty notes. The taste is smokey like charcoal, running into a burnt sugar note on the end. The palate is medium bodied and textured with a good length. Overall, a good beer that grows on me.

500ml bottle. Clear dark brown with huge, firm, frothy, beige head. Decent herbal, grassy hop aroma, some dark malty undertones. Taste is minimally tart dark malty, other notes like grain and chocolate remain in statu nascendi, minimally herbal, almost soapy hop finish.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep black, nice head. Starts intense malty, modest roasty, some fruity hints. More and more malty-earthy, some dry notes. Well balanced finish, quite drinkable. Good schwarzbier!

Big beige head. Clear deep brownish red body with carbonation. Roasty earthy strawy aroma with milky chocolatey smoky notes. Dry-sweetish earthy roasty taste with milky peppery notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish roasty sugary metallic aftertaste with strawy peppery. Nice, drinkable, some off flavours. (0.5l bottle, Alko Arkadia, Helsinki.)

A colablack beer with a medium and blond head. Aroma is (rye)bready and slightly sour, roastiness, some syrup and hint of grass. Taste is bready, some roastiness, ryebread. Medium- bodied, mild carbonation, slightly biting and too light to drink. Unsurprising, still quite nice Schwarz.

500ml bottle by the courtesy of Finn. Clear rosewood coloured body. Rocky, dense, beige head that recedes slowly, leaving fragile lacing behind. Burnt dark malts to the nose, notes of cardboard. Mild smoked malts in flavour alongside dark bread, mid-sweet, on a backbone of roasted bitterness. Rather thin on the swallow and easy to drink. Not bad at all (Tromsø, 24.02.2012).

Flaske 0,5l fra Alko Muonio. Dyp amber på farge. OK luftig, litt farget skum som fester seg litt til glasset - og varer en stund. God aroma av røyk og røstet malt. Smaken er syrlig karamell. Balansert. Avslutter bittert & litt syrlig.
