Sampled from 0.33 l bottle from local ’trinkgut’, best before February 2018. Clear, golden yellow with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy and a bit floral aroma of grains and some straw. Moderately sweet, malty, slightly grassy taste of grains, some strawand hints of honey, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly metallic finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!

500ml bottle in my holiday apartment in Cochem on 8th May 2017. I might have had a more boring Kolsch but for the life of me I can’t remember when or where. Usual clean and clear look to the light golden body, regular fast fading white head. Odourless and tasteless really, with the minimal amount of flavour from the hops or malts. Refreshing enough, but lacked everything else a beer should have. Scored objectively.

33CL bottle at home, clear golden beer with a small/medium white head. Honestly i don’t know why this beer gets these bad ratings, my bottle didn’t smell like fish and it wasn’t sour. it smelled just like most beers of this type and tasted not bad. It was a drinkable beer that is great if you want it to drink an entire evening, there are better Kölsch out there but this beer deserves a bit better in my opinion.

Bottle: Pale golden to golden with a greenish sheen, stable shite loose and rocky head, visible carbonation, grainy-citrussy nose with a strawy ( hoppy?) touch; mild sourish-sweetish flavour, light bodied and really soft; citrussy-fruity finish with wheaty-grainy traces, followed by a pretty light bitterness in the aftertaste. All in all quite O.K. for a bottled Kölsch…

Bottle. It pours a clear, straw body under a decent white head. Quite sweetish malty nose with a distinct fruity touch and some peppery, piney hops. A bit too effervescent, medium body and semi-dry, with pale malts and fruityness. Quite nicely hopped for a kölsch with a good bitterness ending a little bit short. Grainy too in the finish. A quite refreshing one, more-ish and quenching. 091008
