Porter is produced in a complex two-maisch process, fermented with our unique Hoepfner yeast and stored for at least six weeks. This makes it mature and binds the carbonic acid into the fine foam that connoisseurs love.

Clear cola coloured body with a very thin fast-dying tan head. Aroma of meat and potatoes (no joke!), grapes, earth, nuts and more mushrooms or something meaty (umami, for sure). Medium-bodied; Assertive roasted malt with a strong peat and nuttiness and a very subdued grape and sweetness but the meat, mushrooms, earthiness and smoked flavours come out. Aftertaste strong and not too pleasant. Overall, a very potent and flavourful (not in the best of ways) beer that shows earth and musty flavours. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Ambrosetti in Berlin, Germany on 30-December-2010 sampled back home on this side of the pond in Washington on 15-May-2011.
