Clear amber/brown pour with a decent and lasting white head; aroma is mainly malt, then caramel and honey. Taste adds some herbs for a decent finish. Well rounded.

Warburger Urtyp, Flasche vom Kronland-Getränkemarkt, Warburg. - Dunkles Kupferrotbraun, klar. - In der Nase mild brotig-nussiges dunkles Malz, leicht toastmalzig, schwach fruchtig, kaum herb. - Antrunk schlank dunkelmalzig und leicht röstig, dunkle Brotkruste, leichte karamellige Süße. Blasse zitrusfruchtige Hopfung, milde herbale Herbe, Anklänge an Unkraut. Durchschnittlich rezent, fast dünn. Im Abgang nur milde Herbe. - Leichtes, etwas dünnes Dunkles von angenehmer Aromatik. Durchaus nett. (5.8.2021.)

Bottle from MiP. Dark brown color. Malty aroma with just a hint of flowers. Malty sweet, flowery flavor with citrus and a touch of caramel. Mango and just a dash of bitterness in the aftertaste. Good stuff!

0.33 l bottle, best before November 2016 (I believe, hardly readable). Clear, dark brown with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, bready aroma of caramel, nuts and wort. Moderately sweet, malty, quite bready taste of caramel, nuts, wort and hints of chocolate, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a bit roasty and a little dry finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay, quite bland though.

0,5 l bottle in an old school design. Looks good. Dark amber with a fine nearly white head. Starts roasted malts and even a little bit metallic. Ends dry with a little bit sweetness and low herb notes. Average Dunkel.
