Bottled. Hazy golden colour with small white head, which lasts for quite a bit. Leaves nice lace. Aroma is earthyness, mild notes of sour fruits, wood and yeast. Flavour is very much sour fruits, yeast and some wooden hints mixed in. A wellbalanced brew which does the "sweetish sour" thing very well. Refreshing.

Bottle courtesy of Steph: Poured an hazy dirty beige color ale with a huge pure white foamy head with perfect retention and lacing, there probably was still foam in my glass 30 minutes after the pour. Aroma consists of a well balance mix between oak and tart with some green apple and some very light horse blanket. Taste is quite sour with load of oak and some tartness. The yeast from the original Belgian ale is still identifiable and provided an interesting complexity to the mix. Full body with limited filtration and some great carbonation. I have to admit that I was truly amazed by this beer and it definitely surpassed my expectation. It is too bad that I will probably never see a bottle of this again.

2007-11-02, Papsoe Blind Tasting, corked bottle
Cloudy blond color, the head is eggwhite-like. Nice sour aroma, with cellar smell and citrus fruits, also light plastic. Medium-thin body, with a balanced mix of light malt flavor, prominent acidity, light fruitness (lemon peel, bitter grapefruit). Good, but without vibes.

From bottle, blind tasting at Papsoes - beer no 2. Pours hazy yellow with a diminished white head. Brett acidic and citrus fruity aroma. Barnyard, citric. Goes into a slight leathered flavour. Ends quite dry and citric. Simple yet powerful.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a hazy, pale golden with a tall and bubbly, white head. Lightly tart Brettish nose with a citrusy touch. Medium body with a very lively carbonation. Somewhat astringent Brett accents and some hints of citrus. The bitterness is very subdued. Quite interesting and refreshing. 021107

Bottled. An unclear muddy amber beer with a lazing orange head. The aroma is acidic combined with sweetness with light notes of brettanomyces and citrus. The flavor is acidic with strong notes of citrus as well as light notes of barnyard and wood, leading to a dry citrusy finish. Thank Alex (fiulijn).

Bottle at LCRBM3. Good farmyard character, nice beer, soft, lemon and some other citrus fruits. That was a nice beer. Good acidity with good farmyard notes and character. Excellent way to finish off the LCRBM.

Draught Right pineapple colour, head gone in seconds. Dry, lambicky nose, grapelambic and wood. Tannins in the taste, dry white wine, grape kernels, and retronasal definitely white wine. Lambic is dominant. Dry, and in some way, alcoholic in palate. Lambic overwhelms it - as if it were 3/4 lambic and 1/4 beer. ’t Is great, but it’s 100% different from the original Crianza, as served at ZBF ’06.
