BA Imperial Baltic Porter 13% vol
A bigger and bolder version of Öö brewed for its 10th anniversary, aged in cognac barrels.
Taste: A velvety concoction of toasted malts, chocolate ganache and luscious vanilla slowly melt away, until delicate notes of blackberries and heather tips emerge. The finish reveals an elegant cask presentation with notes of warming cognac, dark dried fruits and refined tannins.
Appearance: As pitch black as the night sky, with a dense chestnut head.
Nose: The rich aroma of chocolate and cracked walnuts jump out of the bottle, quickly followed by a gentle touch of vanilla.
Malts: Pilsner zero, Munich, Carafa special T-2, Chocolate dark, Caramel 300, Special B, dark sugar, raisins
Hops: Columbus, Northern Brewer
OG 33° ; FG 11.5° ; IBU 30

Sample from the bottle at Spicy Days, Zagreb. Color is very dark brown with very small head. Aromas and flavors: Chocolate, booze.. Ok.

Bottle at Spicy Days. Full body, med-low carbonation. Lots of sweetness, medium warmth. Shitloads of toffee, chocolate malty character, but it kinda misses the mark as a beer - it is just sweet and feels single-dimensional. It is still very good, just not great.

Bottled 330ml. -at Goblet Zagreb. Pitch black coloured, small brownish head that went away fast, cognac and chocolate in the nose. Rather sweet taste; cognac, chocolate, alcohol and dried fruits with rather sweet boozy finish.

Poured from the tap (side by side with Öö and XO). Black with small tan head. Chocolate, lots of cognac, touch of fruitiness. Very good. Takes the original Öö and exchanges the roast for cognac. Slightly less rich and full bodied compared to the original.

Draught @ Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2023 (MBCC). Heavy, roasty and earthy with some syrup, hints of cognac and boozy barrel notes.

MBCC 2023. Black with a small tan head. Roasted and even a bit burned aroma with licorice dominating. Somewhat thin roasted flavour with licorice and charcoal.
