Draught at MBCC 2023, Yellow Session. Filmy layer, dotted spots on the glass, almost black in body appearance, a deep reddish shade to it. Promising smell of dried fruits, rather sweet. Mid-sweet malt-fruity flavours, impacts of prunes, raisin, and caramel malts. Rounded, long-lived ending, not that sweet. Port-impression. Full bodied. Nice slow sipper. (Copenhagen, 05.05.2023).

On tap at MBCC 2023, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, with toasted nuts, caramel and esters. Flavour is surprisingly authentic, with Belgian yeast, esters, chestnut and caramel. Nice expression of the Belgian yeast. Very good.

MBCC 2023. Coffee bean pout with bubbles foam. Nose: raisins, dried prunes, a touch of calvados and Porto. Mouth: fat and juicy dried fruitiness, a bit sugary with a thin finish. Ok

330 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with short head. Aromas of bourbon, dark fruit, caramel and soft toasted malts. Flavors follow same with emphasis on sticky caramel. Can’t get any of the port barrel directly and more of a strong ale than a quad. Still, quite tasty

Review based on the BJCP2020 guidelines (style 33B: bourbon and Port barrels / 26D). Can 33 cl - Batch L16112022 (BBF 11.32). AROMA: medium-high boozy aroma (slightly hot) with balanced notes of Bourbon and Port (tending to Port). Low notes of raisins and plums. APPEARANCE: dark ruby color and almost opaque. medium-low to low light brown head with good retention. lace formation. TASTE: initial medium-high to high Port notes, wood, with faint dark caramel in the background. everything else is absent. medium-low bitterness with a semi-dry finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium-high to high body with slight neutral acidity from Port barrel. low carbonation. hot sensation. OVERALL: a barrel aged quadruppel with more balance in the aroma and much more monochromatic in the flavor.

Supper lääge, vanilje, röst, alks, puuviljane ka. Ok, way liiga lääge minu jaoks ja alks põletab lausa.
