This delicious, premium blonde ale from Fuller’s is the perfect combination of unbeatable flavour and refreshment.

Brewed using a unique blend of malted barley and wheat for a delicious malty taste bursting with rich, biscuity flavours, Liberty hops are then added for a distinctive zesty character and fruity bite, whilst Saaz hops add a gentle bitter taste for a clean, refreshing finish.

(500ml bottle) A gold/orange colour with a large off-white head leaves a light lacing. Taste is sweet malt with notes of caramel and a bitter/hoppy finish. Pleasant easy drinking session blonde ale when I find myself in a Fullers pub and its on tap. I like it.

Floral and light citrus aroma. Sweet, fruity maltiness. Smooth texture. Hoppy flavour but quite sweet, not so bitter.

4.5% Bottle, brown 500ml type. One week before it’s best before date: poured into a vase shaped ’Old Speckled Hen’ pint glass. Lagerlike in its appearance, bright golden body and a pure white head on top. The head however disappeared very quickly leaving a thin collar. Fresh bread smell with wheat esters and a sweet yeasty aroma mixed within it. This had a summer beer feel to it (it is snowing outside at the moment), tangy, sharp and highy carbonated. Wheat and Barley is used in the brew, the wheat is evident in the taste more than the malted barley. An OK beer in the right circumstances, sunny and warm sort of times. Not late January (2010) when I reviewed it.

Bottled, 0.5l. Pours clear golden with massive frothy white head and lively carbonation. Aroma of malts, grassy hops and some fruits on the nose. Sweet malty and biscuit taste with light but long tasting finish. Medium bodied, thin texture and average carbonation in palate.

Fullers lättviktare som känns lite för tunn. Uppfriskande lätt och stor drickbarhet finns på pluskontot, men golden ale är inte Englands främsta gren.

Bottle sample at a Fuller’s tasting at Porter & Sons. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, fruits, honey, toffee and butter. Sweet flavor with somewhat honey-ish malt and light grainy notes. Medium-bodied. Lacks real hoppiness.

Bottle at Cafe buitenlust, Oirschot. Not much to tell about this beer. Pretty decent in every way, nothing really stands out. Easy drinkable, low body.

Colour was okay. Smell was very good, but too bad that it’s a bit better than the taste. Didn’t like the mouthfeel too.

Bottled 500ml. - from the London Pride store in Ljubljana, shared with Marko.
Golden coloured, medium sized white head, perfumey flowery nose. Soft malty, pleasant flowery hoppy and mild fruity with slight peppery notes in rather hoppy finish. Nice beer.
