Chefbrygger Christian Harboe har også nøje udvalgt ingredienserne til den særlige juleudgave af Limfjordsporteren, der er blevet introduceret i julen 2022. Opskriften er naturligvis en velbevaret hemmelig, men vi vil dog godt afsløre, at der er tilsat vanilje fra Tahiti og portvin fra Quinta Do Estanho.
Den ristede malt leder smagen i retningen af kaffe, mørk chokolade, karamel og et svagt hint af røg. Duften af vanilje er tydelig, og den tilsatte portvin giver sødme og friskhed.
Bryggerens udgangspunkt var, at juleporteren skulle passe til julens søde desserter, men den har vist sig også at kunne nydes sammen med julens kraftige retter med salt og syre eller bare som en kompleks smagsoplevelse helt for sig selv.
Kan med fordel serveres ved en højere temperatur på 15-16°c for at fremhæve smagen af portvin i denne komplekse Imperial / Double Porter, som er til den sødere side med en cremet mundfylde samt et nøddebrunt skum i glasset. Sødmen bliver afrundet af mild til medium bitterhed.

Bottle, 9.2%. Vanilla aroma, dark chocolate, hint of soapy Juleskum candy. Black colour. Tight creamy brown head. The flavour is sweet with a good marshmallow note. Roasted malts, bitter chocolate. A little alcohol bitterness, but also quite warming. Go Limfjord!

Bottle from Netto. Pours opaque dark brownish black with medium brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, roasted hazelnuts, almonds, vanilla, toffee, bourbon whiskey, and maple syrup. Taste is medium to very sweet, light to medium bitter, and faint salty. Body is creamy with soft carbonation. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes of roasted malt, vanilla, tawny port wine, toffee, nuts, whiskey, and dried fruit (raisins, prunes). Very nice beer

Bottled. A black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, and candy sugar. The flavor is sweet with notes roasted malt, alcohol, chocolate, spices, and vanilla, leading to a bitter finish. 8/4/8/3/15

Dark sweet and just lightly roasted malty, notes of cocoa and hints of coffee roast, liquorice and some vanilla coming through, creamy smooth mouthfeel and nice body, sweet dark malty lingering close. Nice one but prefer the original.

Bottle from Kvickly, Odder. It is black with a brown head. The aroma is sweet, roasted malt, nuts, choclate and coffee. The taste is sweet and moderate bitter.
