0.5 l bottle from 'Bierothek' (Dortmund), best before November 2023. Almost clear, deep amber with a thin, foamy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, malty, slightly floral aroma of caramel, honey, some nuts and light sultanas. Fairly sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently floral and minimally fruity taste of lots of honey, caramel, grains, nuts and traces of sultanas, followed by a short, moderately bitter finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Pleasant Bock, fairly sweet but nicely aromatic. Could be a bit hoppier.

500ml bottle. Clear, orangey golden colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Rather neutral, minimally grainy, pale malty aroma, whiffs of honey. Taste is watery, sweet-ish, pale malty, slightly bitter hoppy, minimally starchy, a touch of honey. Watery texture, smooth, minimally dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Good balance, not too sweet, not overly starchy, a bit anaemic, watery - OK.

Swing top bottle from Pivnizub. Malty aroma with sherry notes. Malty sweet, flowery flavor, that tends to hide the alcohol. Chewing gum. Well matured and rounded. Deceptively drinkable.

Heller Getreideantrunk. 8/7/9/9/8/9

Golden, low carbonation, low head. Light malt aroma, slight spices. Medium to light body, light honeyish malt and herbal hops. A bit weak bock. refreshing though.

(swing top bottle) Clear golden colour with a nice foamy white head. Moderately sweet malty and slightly fruity (ripe pears) aroma with a tinge of hops and alcohol. Sweet flavour, medium body, smooth carbonation. Initially sweet, but not too sweet maltiness, again slightly fruity notes; medium dry malty and slightly hoppy finish, slightly bitter and alcoholic. Not perfectly balanced and rounded but tasty and pleasant to drink.

Swing-top bottle: Mid-sized creamy head, slowly diminishing, amber coloured; unusual sweetish fruity (peaches ?) and dusty/malty nose; moderate sweetish-malty flavour, a bit alcoholic; sweet-malty finish with some bitterness arriving very late. Not bad, but this Bock lacks some moderate bitterness......................
