When we started chatting with Rick (founder of Oedipus and owner of Taverno), he told us that he sees his new place as a modern country pub. Simple, but good. Both in food and drinks. That is why we came up with the idea to do a Landbier, a simple German lager, in which the focus is on simple drinkability rather than on showcasing either one of the ingredients. This idea appealed to us even more than the country pub / landbier connection: as brewers we always focus on how the beer is made, but this time the beer also questions how we serve it. A Landbier needs to be served fresh from the tank and preferably in a steinkrüg for optimal drinking experience. A perfect collaboration with a beer bar!

Op tap bij Oedipus Craft Space. Iets mistig goudgele kleur, witte kraag. Vrij zoet, Helles-achtig, moutig, weinig bitter, licht grassig, hint van kookvocht. Mist bitterheid.

Pours a light hazy yellow golden colour and a small, almost white head. Aroma's of malt, grain, light fruit. Retronasal it's malty, sweetish, light hop. Flavour is light malty sweet with a hint of bitter. Light bodied. Delicate hopbitterness in the finish. Lekker süffig.

Tap at Taverno Willi Belcher, 3rd November 22. Pours nice and clear. Aroma is biscuit and grass, taste is clean, light mellow and fresh grass.

On tap at Taverno Willi Becher, Amsterdam, Saturday 24th September 2022. Pours clear gold, excellent clarity, white head. Simple landbier, light fruitiness and hoppiness, perhaps could benefit from a little more going on. Fine.
