Gloed refers to the bright red colour of this beer, which is the colour of blushing cheeks, the sunset, or hot coal in a campfire. Gloed is connected to joy and passion, all things that are beautiful and add glow to our lives.
Gloed is a fruity and mildly tart beer, light and sessionable, with predominantly blackcurrant in the nose. It was aged on oak barrels for 14 months, after which it spent another 4 months on the whole fruit. For this version we have used 215g/L cherries and 55g/L blackcurrant. The finish is subtle with light notes of vanilla and cinnamon. Gloed is an elegant, sunny beer that deserves to be enjoyed at a quiet pace. The cherries come from Bouwmans Fruit, an organic fruit grower in the Betuwe. The blackcurrants come from serveral local growlers.

Beautiful clear scarlet beer with a slightly pinkish white head, fast receding. Nice red/pink berries aroma, and some herbs (wild thyme?), wild yeasts, vermouth, cherries. Sweet cherry, if with the sugars all but removed (eaten). Wheat, and a very tart finish. I have to guess the blackcurrant, but it is more fruit than just cherry, especially retronasal. Warming up, it acquires a mild flavour of tonka beans. Acidthinning and some -burn. Soft carbonation. Not the top from Nevel - which still makes it a great beer. Txs to Stef!

Light Pink, No head, lightly sour and fruity wild nose. Flavor as more complexity, cherries and red fruit notes, moderate acidity for a sour. Really tasty and rounded entry. Bring it on!

Draft @ the farewell party of Nevel. Pours a beautiful, cloudy perplex body and a dense white to light pink head with good retention. Aroma's: sourish, sour cherry indeed, wood, light funk. Retronasal the fruit is more pronounced, with some wood and funk. Flavour is above moderate sour with even a hint of sweet and light funk. Light medium bodied. Slightly dry mouthfeel.
