If our minds can imagine magical talking sock puppets, conjuring a luscious double IPA that tastes like mango sticky rice shouldn’t be too hard. Inspired by various incarnations of the delicious Southeast Asian dessert, this friendly, imaginative beer shares the happy place of the Flying Monkeys. Brewed with rice flakes for a buoyant body, ripe mango and fluffy coconut erupt in an explosion of fuzzy, tropical hops settling into an island of fresh sweetness.

Hazy golden colour with an orange hue, a big frothy white cap, good retention and full fluffy lacing. Coconut, pineapple-mango aromas with some nice citrus (lemon zest mostly) that blend to take away too much of the sweetness. The taste shows a little bit more the coconut over the citrusy hop base. Decent fruitiness, but some decent dryness to cut things in the end. A nice Imperial IPA that has a touch of coconut, fruits (lemon, mangoes) and herbal magic.

Can from the LCBO. Hazy medium orange under a frothy short lived white cap that leaves stringy lace. Nose is bright mango, citrus peel, grains and coconut. Light fruity sweetness with a medium mango and pineapple bitterness. Mouth is full and creamy with average carbonation and a lingering bitter finish. 8/3+/8/4-/15

473ml can. Pours a hazy yellow orange with yeast particles that sink to the bottom and a small, foamy, short lived, white head that laces. Sweet fruity aroma of bready wheat malt, mango, orange, earthy yeast and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of bready wheat malt, mango, orange pith, coconut, earthy yeast and piney hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Juicy, delicious and dangerously easy to drink.
