An oat old ale, strong oat flavours and smoothness, complex malt flavour of chocolate and liquorice with a soft roasted coffee finish. Based on a 16th century Belgian Hoppenbier combined with a British mild.

A: hazy dark brown, small, frothy, beige head.
A: burnt biscuit, brown bread, milk chocolate, mocha.
T: sweetish fig, apple, milk chocolate, bread & mocha.
F: earthy hops, bitter toast & mocha.
P: medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation.
Actually a solid dessert beer without the downside of a high ABV like heavy Pastry Stouts. Very nice!
