2004 version. Chocolate and apple aroma. Roasted malt flavor with chocolate. Just a little sweet and thin. Roasted bitter aftertaste. Burg is making good progress. Blindfold test: 2005 version Light colored for a bock. Yeasty aroma. Milk chocolate, licorice, caramel. Slightly herbal.

Bottled as "Burg Herfst Bock" (BB 10/2010)
Tnx Edo/bierkoning
Murky brown color, decent beige head. Raisiny, caramelly with hints of spiceys in the nose. Medium to full bodied. Caramel, yeast, raisins, dry licorice. Soft palate. Pleasant, although not really a bock.

On tap at Pint Bokbierfestival 09. Hazy reddish brown colour, creamy light beige head. Aroma of Roosvicee, sweet fruits, caramel, some glue. Flavour is sweet, yeast, fruits, caramel, light glue/alcohol. The beer oxidizes on the spot, goes downhill from the moment it’s poured in the glass. Light to medium bodied.

Bottle: Cloudy, reddish-amber coloured, persistent mid-sized lacy off-white head; sourish fruitiness and caramel in the aroma; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, fizzy, medium bodied; dried fruits and toasted malt in the yeasty-sourish and bitter finish. Tastes a bit like a home-brewed beer...........

Bottle, 7% as Burgbier Bok. Yeasty liquorice and alcohol aroma. Hazy, very dark red/brown colour. No head. Quite yeasty flavour, fruity with a very distinct raw liquorice note. Too low carbonation, just barely enough. Strange beer, drinkable for a while until it gets too much. 5 3 5 3 8
Draught at Bokbierfestival 2008. Fruity, clean and nice. Good mild maltiness. 6 3 6 3 16
