Oggi è l’occasione per presentare la nostra birra celebrativa, “VII Anniversario”
Come ogni anno abbiamo dato libero sfogo ai test per cercare il blend perfetto, fuori dalle logiche “classiche” che caratterizzano le nostre produzioni Barrel-Aged.
Quest’anno la scelta è stata coraggiosa, per la prima volta abbiamo blendato botti di distillato e vino liquoroso, proveniente da diversi posti nel mondo: Porto (Portogallo), Sherry Oloroso (Spagna), Cognac (Francia) e Bourbon (Kentucky); tutte con in comune una maturazione di 14 mesi. Le ricette brassate sono di due tipi diversi, una Wheated Imperial Stout da 33° plato ed una Munich Imperial Stout (ovvero con malto base monaco), da 34° plato. Dopo la maturazione in legno, il blend ha riposato per più di un mese in acciaio, unificando tutti i sapori e gli aromi che ogni botte ha contribuito a creare nel tempo; dopo una leggera carbonazione, troviamo liquirizia, pasta di cacao e legno di fronte a tutto il resto. La complessità aromatica è notevole, con toni di Bourbon leggeri accompagnati da note di vino liquoroso più incisive e persistenti.
I malti tostati regalano polvere di caffè, liquirizia ed una parte amaricante gentile che abbraccia i quattro legni utilizzati per questa Imperial Stout da 12,5°.
Per apprezzare tutte le sfumature presenti, consigliamo di consumarla “fresca”, anche se questo blend può essere interessante anche tra 10/12 o più mesi. Col passare del tempo ci aspettiamo che le note di liquirizia siano ancora più evidenti.

Tap at WInter Affair 2025. Very dark greyish-brown (?) body. Dry, sharp, raisin-driven aroma. Shatp, thick taste, raisins, chocolate, dusty, kinda likable, not the greatest of notes.

Botella de @Be Hoppy, Madrid. 18/01/2024. Color negro opaco corona de espuma beige escasa aromas y sabores madera, vainilla, cacao,cuerpo denso.

Rated at Suomenojan jätevedenpuhdistamo. Smooth, slightly roasty and heavy with barrel notes, hints of oak, prunes, vanilla, sherry, bourbon, toffee and caramel, some licorice and sweetness in the finish. Surprisingly balanced and complex.

500ml bottle. Thx Tiong! Poured black in color. Lovely barrel notes. Smooth, port notes, roastedness. Light molasses. Balanced. Excellent.

Bottle 0.5l at home, Espoo. Thanks to tiong! Color is very dark brown with small slightly brownish head. Aromas and flavors: Sherry, chocolate, cocnag, Cacao, malts... soft and nice.

(Bottle, 0.5l, thanks tiong, at VastActiv, 20240802) The beer poured oily and black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had toasted malts, wood, vanilla, sherry and brandy. Palate was full bodied and warming with low carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, wood, vanilla, brandy, sherry, vinous notes, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was woody, burnt and bitter. A delicious burnt brew barrel notes.

Geprobeerd op de Della Fonte tasting bij Addicted2Craftbeer. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier met een bruinig schuim. Het heeft een aroma van chocolade en cognac. De smaak is vol, gebrande mout, koffie, chocolade, cognac en hout.

Bottle shared by EG. Dark brown with beige head. Quite boozy with chocolage, cognac, wood, roast. A bit too intense.

Bottle shared at l'tarne. A thick dark brown black coloured pour a fading loose tan head. Aroma is big meaty roast, spicy woody, sherry, funky musty vinous fruit, marshmallow, chocolate, muscat. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, oily, nutty, chewy malts, chewy, Warming barrel, little muddled. Porto, toffee pud. Palate is semi sweet, oily, moderate carbonation, oily, light tang, mellow carbonation.
