DIPA by Uncharted, sampled at Gents Bierfestival. Snow white, medium thick, tiny-bubbled, creamy head over a cloudy to even somewhat milky, yolk-yellow blonde beer. Aroma of green mango, pomelo, a dank armpit sweat note, grapefruit zest, papaya, lemon peel, lime, fresh dough. Fruity onset, notes of pineapple, starfruit, lychee and light papaya with a citric edge, medium carb, full and smooth doughy maltiness deeply soaked in tropical and citrusy, bright hoppiness with a slight dank side but still huge emphasis on pomelo, lychee, starfruit and green mango, bringing a mild yet somewhat ‘stretched’ and adequate bitterness. Another amazing IPA by Uncharted – this man truly knows how to use his hops and eliminate everything that does not belong in an Anglo-Saxon IPA or APA idiom, something not many Belgian microbrewers can compare with.

Draught Yellow-ochre beer, fully hazy with a small rim and lacerings. Grainy, multiple malts, summergrain, bit of ureum. Bitter, grapefruit, grapefruitpeel. Bitterish nuts, Brazil nuts with a bitterish coating. Well bodied, slick, feels a tad underfermented. OK.

Cloudy dark yellow blond beer, big creamy irregular white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: fruity, melons, hoppy, a little floral, tropical fruits, juicy, nice! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, a bit sweet, hoppy bitterness, a bit grassy, resinous touch. Aftertaste: bitter, hoppy, a bit soapy, some citrus, fruity, resinous bitterness in the finish.
