Frische Hefe in Komposition mit Hohenloher Spezialmalzen – ein grandioses dunkles Bier. Frisch gezwickelt ist es angenehm weich und begeistert mit einem zarten Duft von Röstnoten.

5/8/2018. Bottle from Khan Kiosk, Frankfurt. Pours an unexpected mid-amber colour with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of hops, malt, fruit, corn, caramel and straw. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation.

Bottle. Dark brown, nearly black. Small head. Aroma and taste are dominated by malts, honey and caramel. Sweet and watery. Very süffig but not outstanding. Decent Dunkel.

Pours brown from the bottle and leaves a thin but attractive frothy head with moderate lacing. Aroma is malty sweet with lots of caramel, hints of vegetables, and knd of musty. Taste has a grainy bitterness and stale old leather notes that contrasts starkly with the underlying caramel & chocolate sweetness. Body is medium over a fairly fizzy palate. Finish is short and disjointed. Kind of disapponting. Rerate on 03/2017. Overall noticed more chocolate and caramel, and the flavors melded better. Upped from 2.4 to 2.6 Rerate on 06/2021. Noticeable plum this time. None of the veggie tones mentioned in the first review. Palate and finish still need work. Still climbing though. 2.6 to 3.1

Brown hazy, tall frothy head, stays, nice laces. The nose is earthy with notes of dried fruit (especially prune) & wine. Medium body. Thin to oily texture. The flavour starts with mild fruity sweetness accompanied later by winy note & balanced hop bitterness. Roasty notes are also present but fairly moderately. In the ending shows the hoppy bitterness more obvious. Oh it’s good.
