Bottle from House of Trembling Madness, online. Pours black with big beige to tanned fluffy head - looks fantastic. Inviting aroma of dark malt, burnt chocolate, minerals, pine, grapefruit rind. Taste is ashy at first but maintains a lusciousness with dark chocolate, dark berries, pine, squeeze of grapefruit. Soft medium bodied mouthfeel. Stunning beer.

Tap at Acido Acida 2023, Ferrara, Italy. Pours dark brown, almost black, with very fine cappuccino foam. Aroma is intense of chocolate, some vanilla, walnuts. Body is smooth, fairly dense and a little sticky, with delicate carbonation. Taste has good bitterness, with quite a toasty feeling. Final is not intense, but with some long-lasting roasty bitterness.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines and drunk at home Black beer thick tan head. Very drinkable strong dark beer. Plenty of chewy blackberry and blackcurrant and molasses. Lots of dark malt. Really rather decent. Hides abv well. Some bitterness on the finish. Dark chocolate. Light coffee presence. More a tarry malty molasses character. Good fruit.
