Hazy amber with a fluffy off-white head. First aroma impression is Belgian yeast: Banana and bubblegum. Has a little caramel malt and a hint of hops. Dry and yeast dominated flavour, with a nice hoppy bitter finish that makes it a good spring time drink.

Bottle at Svea, Malmö
Hazy amber color. The malty aroma is lightly fruity and candied. It has a good body, with a good sweetish caramel flavor, spicy (coriander); but the yeast is not my favorite. Quite strong bitterness.

Bottled. Pale amber, rich airy head. Flowery yeasty nose. Very soft and near full bodied with marked malt sweetness. Almondy and caramelly with notes of honey. Some late herbal bitterness. Well balanced and laid back, very Belgian in style.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Slightly hazy amber golden with a tall, off-white head. Lightly perfumy coriander aroma with a whiff of yeast. Good full body with fruit, yeast and some diacetyl with a somewhat astringent, bitter finish. A bit underwhelming for Nøgne Ø. 260208

Bottle, 7.5%, batch 331. Quite hoppy aroma, rough and refreshing with a little yeast. Hazy dark amber colour, big rocky head, leaving lace. The flavour is quite powerful. Good teaish hoppiness, grassy and slightly spicy. Solid mouthfeel. A little sweet with a good alcohol level. Distinct but harmonious.

Bottle. First of all, I only had a 10cl sample of this, and I think that’s not enough, but it’s a really difficult beer to find in Norway (sic!) so it seems that what I get this year. The pour was almost clear, copper-colored, and topped by a nice, off-white head. Rather sweetish nose, but in a pleasant Belgian way, fruity, mostly green apples, and with some alcohol and a spicyness. Sweet and alcohol-warming in the mouth, with some spices, sugar and a nice fruityness, as well as a pleasant hop profile. Full body. The finish is lasting, with a pronounced alcohol flavor. A really nice Belgian style ale from Nøgne Ø, without their typical hop-profile. Gimme more. (080215)
