Bottle, from historic notes. Source not recorded. Poured golden orange with an off-whtie head. Aroma vageuly malty and hoppy with some fruit and a bit of flowers and herbs. Medium sweetness. Moderate body, watery texture. Underwhelming.

Bottled. Golden color. Maltaroma with callary salt. malty, salty, flowery flavor with a hint of citrus. Thin, but tasty. Some fishyness in the aftertaste, but actually a quite nice beer.

From BA: Nov 2006. Takes it name from the ’Golden Promise’ malt, which is used 100% in the brew and by a lot of scotch producers. No head on the beer as soon as it is poured, don’t like that! The body is a pale amber colour with a shimmer of light bouncing off, from the candle which I am heating the house with. Funny, malty smell, not unpleasant, but not really beery either. Funny, malty taste, not unpleasant, but not really beery either. Taste soon goes, leaving a slight longing for another slurp, but of something else! Not the best Marston’s beer on the market, thats for sure.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Crisp palate but slightly watery flavours. Mellow malt. Unremarkable and one dimensional.

Light yellow-orange color, dull and a bit cloudy. Nice head that stays all the way, turning to attractive lace. Round, fruity, malty aroma. Yeast in there as well. Nice malt taste, quite fruity, a tad sweet, but not much. A slight scotch-like flavor as well. Light, spicy, fruity, very nice blonde ale. Finish of fruit, rather dry but not too bitter at all. Good balance.
