A clear dark brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of intense smoked malt, tobacco, herbs, berries. Taste of peated dark malt, coffee, berries, tobacco.

Bottle, courtesy of MiP. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and yeast, with notes of smoke. Bitter, hoppy flavour with sweetish notes of smoke, malt and yeast. Smoky and roasty aftertaste with dusty and estery notes. 12 years past the BBD but still cool. Thank you, my friend, for this gem!

Bottle. Very dark color, almost opague. Smoked ham and sugar in the aroma. Smoked ham and beechwood in the lightly sweetened flavor. Watery texture. Odd mix of a Bamberg Rauchbier and a Belgian tafelbier. But I like it!

From bottle on board Fridtjofen 10.08.17. Ebony. Brown head and lacing. Aroma and taste of smoked malt, peat and tar. Dry and a bit waterish.

@Voldby ølmesse 2014 - Aroma: Smokey and sweet. Flavor: Tart and butter and very smokey and very sweet. Color: Dark brown with a light brown head.

Bottle @ Voldby ølmesse. Pours almost black with a tan head. Aroma of hard roasted malt, tar, smoke, peaty, caramel. Flavor is roasted, malt, bacon, peat, light sour. Thin watery body, soft carbonation. 300814

Bottle@Ølmesse, Voldby - very dark brown near black coloured pour. Malty burned and smokey aroma and taste, kind of bbq burned meaty in a weird way, strange on palate. Not a fan.
