Using a mashed-up grain bill from Straight Outta The Laboratory and Ghost in The Machine, we used a massive dose of CO2 extract, Citra Incognito, and Citra T-90s on the hotside, followed by an insane amount of Citra LUPOMAX and Citra T-90s for the Double Dry Hop, still one of the heaviest dry hops in Equilibrium’s history. Ghost In The Laboratory pours an opaque and vivid yellow and has very strong aromas of extreme mango supported by tropical nectar. The flavor is explosive with extremely saturated notes of mango smoothie, Grovestand Orange Juice with plenty of pulp, orange tang, tropical fruit cup in syrup, dank grass, and a rainbow melon creamsicle note from our #EQjuice finish, all packed into a resinous and chewy mouthfeel.

Can from Stacks. Hazy ochre, stable, foamy, white head. Aroma of pineapple, lychee, lime, melon, dough, sherbet, onion, gin. Taste has sweet pineapple & melon, sourish lime & citrus zest over a doughy malt body. Softly bitter citrus pith & some dank notes in the middle. Floral hops in the finish, lingering juicy citrus, pine and warming gin-like alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Quite sweet but rounded and full-bodied.

Can from BiervanEijk, Steenwijk. Juicy and fruity with citrus, grass, tropical fruit, orange, mango, light dank hop. Moderate bitter flavour, finishes a bit dry. Very good stuff, intensely hopped without the usual 'side effects' (hop burn).

Panda thanks to Cloin. Clear copper tinted gold beer, small bubbly off white head. Light palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light pale malts, clean but with a pronounced creamy sweetness. Hops bring cooling pine and smooth mango guava, fairly sweet. A little hop spice nibble on the light and mildly dry finish. It hangs about a fair bit. Nice clean dipa, doesn't come across as particularly Citra like but very nice in the tropical fruits dept. 3.9

Can at home, from Craft Central.ie, 08/12/24. Moderately hazed golden orange topped with a just off white head that thins in time to a swirl. Nose is orange pith, grass, pineapple, mandarin, melon, airy malts. Taste comprises grass, light stone fruit, papaya, mandarin, melon, guava, pine needle. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with juicy come grassy hop bitterness allied to a light rising boost. Tidy clean and easy drinking DIPA.

Keg at Farmers Boy, St Albans, Herts. A hazy golden/orange/yellow coloured pour with a decent off white head on top. Sweet, hoppy, orange, mango, peach, tropical fruit taste and aroma. An enjoyable DIPA but quite sweet.

473ml can. Murky, orange juice-like, dark yellow-ish, golden colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, moderately to mostly lasting, white head leaving behind massive lacings. Juicy, citrusy fruity and grassy, hoppy as well as oaty malty aroma, notes of freshly pressed orange juice, some tangerine, lemon, zesty aspects. Taste is citrusy fruity hoppy and sweet-ish, wheaty and oaty malty, notes of orange, orange juice, some tangerine, a touch of lemon, mildly bitter zesty and tart-ish, citric and fruit acidic aspects. Creamy texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying, simultaneously minimally dry and astringent palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Very much on the orange (rather than the lemon) side despite all the citra usage - real orange juice should be envious of this brewed one...
