Bought at the brewery, this newfound beer from De Ryck. IMO a worthy # 2000. Ruby red color, pinkish head. Cherry and pepper in the aroma. Sweet flavor with cherry, pepper, cinnamon and milk sugar. Hint of fresh cheese. Almondy aftertaste.

Sweet cherry beer with pinkish head and deep red colour, sugary and lots of cherry jam, bit malty, bit spicy, sourish touch, fortunately not too cloying but suffering from a thin mouthfeel and a lack of complexity. But a lot better than that awful Jules De Kriek, luckily.

Cloudy muddied ruby tinted copper coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of cherries, malt, light nuts, caramel and some figs with a touch of alcohol on the finish. Medium-bodied; Strong cherry flavour with some alcohol noticeable up front and a more subdued, caramel flavour with some malt on the back end. Aftertaste shows a little complexity with light spices, yeast and pit fruits all complementing the cherries, which aren’t too strong in this one. Overall, a decent beer, but not as good as I was expecting. Still, not a bad one to try, but I wish I packed my bag with a different kriek than this one! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Delices and Caprices in Bruxelles, Belgium on 19-August-2013 for €2,50 sampled at home in Washington on the other side of the Atlantic for my fifth wedding anniversary on 09-August-2014.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours light red-brown with a pinkish white head. Aromas are shampoo and hubba-bubba. Taste is sickly sweet. Texture is thin, bit fizzy. Strange one for sure.

Bottle @ home shared with my girlfriend. A bit hazy red color, medium sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, sweetness and red fruit. Pretty nice actually. Or maybe I’m just in a weird mood.

A hazed brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet harsh cherries, with loads of oxidized cardboard. In mouth, a sweet chemical cherry with honey malt, light balsamic notes, acidity, unbalanced. Bieropholie import.
