An Imperial Baltic Porter brewed with chicory root coffee to celebrate Baltic Porter Day 2023.
Taste: Sweet malt is complimented by an intense character of pipe tobacco and cherry blossom. An assertive roast character from the chicory root follows through, with hints of menthol, herbal hoppiness and umami. Best enjoyed under the stars after an evening of smoke sauna.
Appearance: Dark black with a foamy dark brown head.
Nose: Black bread, burnt sugar, and molasses jump out with liquorice, umami, and a hint of foraged mushrooms.
Malts: Pilsner zero, Munich malt, Carafa special T-2, Chocolate rye, Cara pale, Cara 300, Oat malt, Dark sugar
Hops: Magnum, Northern Brewer, Chicory root coffee
OG 24° ; FG 10.6° ; IBU 30

Bottle ordered from Clapham Craft. Aroma is extremely sweet - berries. Ribena. A liqourice edge (although thsy presumably the chicory. Dark and glossy. Foamy beige head disappears rather abruptly. Initial Medium-heavy bitter hit - black coffee and liquorice. Followed up by molasses and malts and fruit for a sweet streak. Medium bitter. Oily. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. Big boozy Balt eith a sweet streak in the mix.

Bottle, 0.33l. Black pour, no head. No lacing. Nice on the nose, strong coffee notes, plum, raisin, roasted malt. Caramel in the background. Light to medium body, medium carbonation. Surprisingly lightweight mouthfeel and texture, smooth but almost watery. Quite easily drinkable, though. Balanced roasty bittersweet taste. Aroma of coffee, dark roasted malt, caramel. Fruity notes, plum, raisin, berries. Chocolate, bready notes. Sticky. Medium lasting finish, bittersweet, lingering coffee notes, subtle warming alcohol. Lacking a body a bit but otherwise quite flavorful and tasty.

Bottled 330ml. -at Goblet Zagreb. Black coloured, small to medium sized brownish head, light roasty nose. Light roasted malt, chocolate, some coffee and discreet alcohol with mild roasty finish. Lack of body is evident.

Bottle at Goblet with Hrabren. Blackish body, creamy tan head, quickly disappearing. Subdued aroma, alcohol, bit earthy, sweetish. Soapy coffee aroma, chocolate, mild chicory,.light alcohol, bit earthy. Likable but not all clean.

0.33 l bottle shared with Marko at Goblet Beer Store, Zagreb. Dark brown to black, small beige head. Roasty flavour, nutty, marshmallow, some tart fruit. Quite vague. Cardboard. Sweet nutty, smooth. Prunes. Chicory present. Alcohol quite hidden. Medium body. Quite drinkable for 10%. Light dry finish.

On tap at 7000 Jars Of Beer. Pours black with a yellowish brown head that dissipates to o the edges. Aroma has a good amount of chocolate and sweet dark grains with dark roast supporting. Flavor has lots of chocolate and roasted malts with slightly sweet dark grains underlying.

Bottle at home shared with Laura. Opaque black color, dark brown colored head that diminishes quickly. Aroma and flavor are malts, roasted malts, coffee roasty notes, malty bitters. Not spectacular but quite good in the end.
