7/11/2025. Bottle shared by minutemat, cheers! Aroma is malty, roasted, liquorice, molasses, dried fruits. Medium sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, quite smooth, soft carbonation. Quite alright.

Bottle in the hotel in Strasbourg, picked up from a random back street shop 05/10/2025.
Light black topped with a good sized lasting tan head.
Nose is cocoa powder, dried fruit rinds, mellow roast.
Taste comprises dates, toffee, mellow roast, cocoa powder.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close
Okay drop ... lacks depth for the ABV though.

500ml bottle from a shop in Strasbourg. Hazed dark brown, large pale tan head. Pleasant porter overall, some mild liquorice, perhaps a hint towards molasses, dark French brune sweetness, dark malt layers. Nice.

Lots of yeasty residue in the neck and cap as if it was stored on its side (not by me). Dark brown and murky with quick fading head. Quite a mature, woody, earthy aroma. Malt heavy. Fairly sweet like a strong, malty Old Ale but with Belgian undertones of caramelised banana. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Looks terrible but tastes good.

Fles 50cl thuis. Suikers, roasted malts, zoeten, wat bittertonen, caramel, wat chocolade, zuurtje. (24-6-2022).

Pours dirty brown with a frothy head. Aroma of caramel and hazelnut. A touch sulfuric. The above average carbonation for this style is somewhat jarring and works at odds with a nutty, toffee sweetness that demands a softer palate. Stays fairly sweet throughout with a touch of mineralic bitterness at the end. Flawed but not unpleasant.
