This American style Barley Wine, brewed with our good friends at VAUX brewery, is full of caramelised toffee notes, whirlpooled and dry hopped with a big ol US hop bill of Citra, Simcoe, Centennial, Cascade and Columbus and a complex malty backbone. Big, boozy and bitter with a warmth that takes those winter blues away.

Can. Clear deep amber brown beer, good pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Malts are pretty laid back for a barleywine, mild creamy sweetness and a mildly tangy umsweet caramel. Some spice in the mid. A pleasant generic fruitiness on the back end. Some ripe and bruised fruits underneath. Mild pine. Smooth finish. It's a pleasant affair thanks to the fruity aspects but for me, US style or no, not enough malt complexity.
