Den er brygget på flere ristede malttyper og er lagret med egetræ, hvilket bidrager til dens kraftige krop. En øl med en kraftig og intens, stigende eftersmag af eg, kaffe, bitter chokolade og vanilje. Kan serveres til stærk ost, vildt eller chokoladedesserter. En øl, som kan nydes i et cognacglas foran den knitrende pejs.

Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy but stable tan head. Clear aroma of yeast and malt, with touches of oats (why?) and lactose. Bitter, roasty flavour with malty and estery notes and touches of chocolate. Roasty and estery aftertaste. Unpretentious and by no means excessively sweet. Warming alcohol presence. Not bad!

Bottle, at Jæren Ølfestival pre-tasting. A dark chestnut colored beer with a creamy beige head. Lacing. The aroma is roasted, lightly burnt and with some licorice and dark dried fruit. It’s full-bodied, dryish and pleasantly carbonated, with a mostly dryish roasted flavor. Licorice, burnt notes and a touch of dark dried fruit in the flavor. Lasting finish. Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear, black with a burgundy tint and a rich, beige head with good retention. Dusty, roasty nose with a hint of cocoa. Rich and very sweet body, some odd plastic notes - cloyingly sweet even with very little hops for balance. Hard to drink. 310122

500 ml bottle, beer #698+699, from Kalø Whisky & Vin. ABV is 9.5%. Black colour, large to moderate beige head. Aroma of roast malts, chocolate, coffee, black rye bread and liquorice. The flavour is slightly sweet with some sourish notes, distinct notes of liquorice, also notes of dark chocolate and coffee.

Bottle, 9.5%. Quite roasted aroma, paper and liquorice. Almost black colour, seems clear. Small stable light brown head. The flavour is roasted with slightly salty liquorice notes. Dry finish of raw liquorice.
